West Africa

Located off the Gulf of Guinea in the Atlantic Ocean, and with a combined area of 730,453 km2, these four countries – Benin, Togo, Ghana, and Côte d’Ivoire – are the cradle of animism and voodoo rituals.

They are surrounded by Nigeria, Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, and Liberia; all also part of West Africa.

Although the geography composed of mountainous areas, plains, and jungles is interesting on its own, the main attraction of this destination are the ancestral African cultures, their countless ceremonies and rituals, and their still existing animist beliefs, where more than 30 ethnic groups periodically perform dozens of festivals.

The climate is generally tropical and varies from dry to humid depending on the geographic zone, with a marked rainy season between May and August.
